The entrence to the Republic of S. Marino

From Wikipedia:

The Most Serene Republic of S. Marino (Italian: Serenissima Repubblica di S. Marino) is a country in the Apennine Mountains. It is a landlocked enclave, completely surrounded by Italy. One of the European microstates, S. Marino has the smallest population of all the members of the Council of Europe.According to tradition, San Marino is the oldest constitutional republic in the world still existing: it was founded in the year 301 . . . [and] has the oldest written constitution still in effect, dating back to 1600.

The First Castle

We paid the €4.50 to see the two towers (the third has no entrance), only to find out that the card used to gain entrance to the turnstile expires with in thirty minutes of swiping it . . . We had to run through the first castle and through the town to make it to the second
