Is that Photoshopped? Not that I would put it past any city bureaucracy to stick a stop sign on someone's front yard, but that does not look like a corner house where you'd need a sign :).
It's in the Anglophone CSL, on Wavell where my Grandmother lives.
CSL, being for most of it's history a separate city, borough what have you, from Montreal, English goes.
It's at a T intersection, so the stop is for the street running into, but not going through, Wavell - no Photo shopping here.
