The letters of our thoughts are the ideas present in our mind before they come to realization . . . Thoughts that are, yet not felt . . . The words of the subconscious . . . of the soul . . .

These are the LETTERS OF MY THOUGHTS.

Rosh Chodesh Kislev

A picture of the Rebbe comprised of the faces of over 2000 shluchim.

Rosh Chodesh Kislev . . . The day that the Rebbe returned to his home after his debilitating heart attack in Lamed Ches (1977)

A few thoughts from the various people on the meaning of the day:

  • Rosh Chodesh Kislev is our day. R' Hilel Paritcher did not celebrate Rosh Chodesh Kislev, nor did  R' Isaak Homler, or R' Itche der Masmid . . . It's our holiday.
  • It started a new level in Mivtzoyim -If not for this day, where would so many of us be.
  • The need to have simcha, joy, even at the darkest hours.
True we have pain, but as the Zohar says, "Joy is found in this part of
the heart while while bitterness in the other." Chassidim were dancing
on Simchas Torah; true it was with tears, but they were dancing.
