The letters of our thoughts are the ideas present in our mind before they come to realization . . . Thoughts that are, yet not felt . . . The words of the subconscious . . . of the soul . . .

These are the LETTERS OF MY THOUGHTS.

Haveil Havalim #230

Note as of 2:08 p.m.: Links are working again - I'm so sorry for the problems!

Welcome to Haveil Havalim Number 230 - The Disaster Edition.

This past weekend, my wife and I were invited to attend the National Jewish Retreat in Greenwich, Connecticut. Unfortunately, fate would have it that the evening hours of Motzei Shabbos, time I'd set aside to add in the last few late submissions to HH - you know who you are :) - and smooth over the entire post, was instead spent driving a student to New Jersey . . .
Nu.
So after a few brief hours of sleep, we packed up for our return to Brooklyn. Not wanting to delay the post, I put it up "as is," figuring I'd be able to edit it from my Palm PRE on the ride back.
Big mistake.
For some reason, editing the post in the mobile browser caused all the links to brake. ALL of them!

So I ask you all to forgive the problems in this post, and enjoy it for what it is . . . a great set of (working) links to the best of the JBlogosphere!

What is Haveil Havalim?

Founded by Soccer Dad, Haveil Havalim is a carnival of Jewish blogs -- a weekly collection of Jewish & Israeli blog highlights, tidbits and points of interest collected from blogs all around the world. It's hosted by different bloggers each week and coordinated by Jack. The term 'Haveil Havalim,' which means "Vanity of Vanities," is from Qoheleth, (Ecclesiastes) which was written by King Solomon. King Solomon built the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and later on got all bogged down in materialism and other 'excesses' and realized that it was nothing but 'hevel,' or in English, 'vanity.'

Israel is emerging as a global economic powerhouse, according to George Gilder. Lady-Light seems to agree, see it in Not Intel; rather: Israel Inside* posted at Tikkun Olam.
