Yesterday's post Waxing Philosophical was indeed rather bleak . . .
Perhaps, in part, it's because I tried reading one of those Litvishe (no pun intended by the fact that I happen to be in Vilna now) inspiration books. You know, the kind that have stories of hashgacha protis and sayings of Gedolim etc.
You know, the ones that have stories about how Loshon Hora runs everything and about all of the Gedolie Hador who smiled after loosing a loved one and the like. It may give inspiration to someone having a hard time . . . but it can also bring him down. Rather morbid you know.
I think the one about the kids in summer camp who built a massive Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple) model . . . only to have it torched on Tisha B'av, was the one that got to me the most. The clincher was the note that the kid who wanted to know if they would rebuild it for visiting day didn't 'get it' -how depressing can you be?
Anyhow.
Things are looking better.
The Sun is out, trees are in blossom.
