We all say stupid things . . . Normally we forget them . . .
There are some, however, that for some reason I haven't forgotten.
One, for example was when I must have been around five or six years old; my father was sitting in his office, and I wanted to ask him a question.
"Mom?" I said "can I ask you a question?"
My father looked at me,
"I'm dad, the one with the beard, remember?"
I doubt he remembers me saying it . . .
Yet it remains etched in my mind . . .
There are many things that we forget with time: Pain, anger, and the like . . . embarrassment stays.
If we embarrass ourselves and remember it, how much more we should be careful not to do so to others . . .
