The letters of our thoughts are the ideas present in our mind before they come to realization . . . Thoughts that are, yet not felt . . . The words of the subconscious . . . of the soul . . .

These are the LETTERS OF MY THOUGHTS.

My Engagement Blogging Round Up

Het Joodse bruidje

It's been a very eventful week - from traveling to chicago, Purim, getting engaged, and then coming to LA for the Exodus - model matzah bakery.

I'd like to take the moment give a word of thanks to all of those who shared in our simcha . . .
From all of the lovely comments on this blog (A tip for stat-hounds: getting in engaged is great for your hits!)
to everyone @Twitter!
Especially all of the special blog posts:

The Flying Dutch Jew with his amazing photos.
The Real Shliach for taking a moment out of his busy five post a day blogging schedule to say l'chaim and recount the event!
Chaviva and Tuvia for schleping from Hartford to spend some time by the simcha of someone they'd never met in person!
and
for shouting out my Mazal Tov!

[Oh and no thanks to the king of yellow journalism, the Lubavitcher Tabloid - who, for some strange reason, continues to ignore every article I write . . . and didn't bother to mention my engagement (that's why I use Shmais peoples!!)]

I love you all!
A good shabbos!

Why the insult against the Tabloid? You are a real chutzpadige baal gayve to think that your simcha or anything you write is more important than: "Leroy chopped up Raheem with a steak knife on Utica and an intrepid Shotim volunteer was the first on the scene and chopped up the incompetent policeman who arrived from the corrupt 71st precinct...."

MAZEL TOV! May you and Chana never be zoiche to walk in the flickering one watt bulb (was four until ConEd stopped taking food stamps) of Chassidus Creedmoor ve'shaar marin bishin!

LOL, cute post.

And no problem. :)

Er, does that mean that if I want hits I should announce it on my blog? But I don't want to announce my engagement on my blog, lol.....

I wonder who that stat-hounds bit was directed at...

but come on. When a blogger gets engaged, it's exciting stuff. Of course it tends to signal the end of their blogging...

Sorry for being so frank - but doesn't the accompanying picture tot the post "pas nisht" for a talented Chossid as yourself?

Hope it wasn't taken personal, just as a "farbrengen" rib-poke..

-Anon: I don't know you to be offended one way or the other (had you used a moniker I would be able to tell)
The picture was once thought to be a Jewish man tenderly giving his daughter a gift before her wedding. It isn't. But the idea (and the name) remains.

i post to both shmais and crownheights.info. in fact, shmais has given me so many problems posting in the past, making me prove the lubavitchness of the simcha that i nearly gave up on them. so much for their mission statement of "keeping lubavitchers informed". for mine, i needed to have a friend who knows him send my engagement announcement. otherwise, they never would have wished a mazel tov to someone named susanne. heck, we even read the rebbe's letter at my chuppah. and yes, my close friends who are shluchim around the world appreciated the posting. mazel tov again mottel!!!

Hey Mottel, whats with the weird touching photo up there??

-Shavuatov: Thanks!
-SusQHB: I know that Shmais has been duped in the past by posting false engagements - so an already overly cautious Shmais is even more so when it comes this particular subject.
-Anon: Please see what I wrote in the comment above to the other Anonymous accuser.

R' Mottel, i hate to say it but i would have to agree with the other posters here. even if you would like to claim that its a father and a daughter, that might have been your intentions when you decided to post it, however since the function of a blog is el hazulas - it would be difficult to suggest that the first thing that comes to mind for us, your tayereh readers, is that of a father-daughter relationship! I guess the reason for that might possibly be because this post is about YOU/getting engaged.. And after learning Smicha, certainly you are aware of how careful religous Jews are when it comes to Ma'arois Ayin.
Please note the above was just aitze toiva from a good friend, it is not meant to offend, or to start controversy ch"v/loi aleinu.

-Y.G. Understood. Though "Lo b'shitufi askinan" - it's not my fault you guys are entirely clueless about classic art!

mottel, why do justify yourself?the pic shouldn´t be on your blog so take it down.Love of oneself covers over all faults.

Mottel said...

-Anon: because I don't feel the need to respond to anonymous attacks. Because you're ignorant in art, my blog should suffer?

Go Mottel. Go Mottel.
